The Maggot was released in 1999 on Ipecac Recordings.
This album is part one of a trilogy: The Maggot, The Bootlicker and The Crybaby.
The Trilogy was released on vinyl by Ipecac Recordings on November 27, 2000 (IPC-011).
On the CD version all songs are spilt to two tracks.
With all of the trilogy CDs, the last track contains a small sample of the first track from the next release. Here there is a sample of the song "Toy" (the first song on The Bootlicker) after "see how pretty, see how smart".
