KISS - Hotter Than Hell.jpg

"Going Blind" (Simmons/Coronel) – 4:32

Originally by KISS from their 1974 album, Hotter Than Hell.

Melvins version originally appeared on the H.I.V. Groupie Hits Pack bootleg as a 1987 live recording from San Francisco, CA at the I-Beam. It was officially released as a studio recording on Houdini in 1993. Also appears on A Live History of Gluttony and Lust, 2006

Lyrics

And I know how it's to be

There is nothing more for you and I

Some are young and some are free

But I think I'm going blind

Cause, I think I'm going blind

And I know how it should be

Little lady, can't you see?

You're so young and different than I

I'm ninety three, you're sixteen

Can't you see I'm going blind?

Cause, I think I'm going blind

And I know how it should be

Cause, I think I'm going blind

And I know how it should be

You're much younger, can't you see?

There is nothing more for you and I

I'm ninety three, you're sixteen

And I think I'm going blind

Yes I think I'm going blind

And I know how it should be

Notes

Legend has it that Buzz sent a tape of the Melvins cover of Going Blind to Gene Simmons. When he heard how slow it was he thought his tape player had broken and bought a new one.

I heard he listened to it then tossed out his stereo thinking it was broken?<br?> Buzzo: I don't remember sending him anything. Let's say it's true.
