via Noisey: "You know how you watch CNN or whatever and they have a tip line? I guarantee that mailbox is probably 99.9999% filled with the dumbest bullshit iPhone videos, blog links, emails about replica watches, and more proof that man is currently devolving back to ape (see the film Idiocracy). Anyway, finding a gem in that cesspool almost makes wading through the neck-high sewage totally worth it. Here is an example of the 0.0001%. Looks like a teaser for a Melvins documentary, or a greatest hits, or a video compilation or something. Any way you slice it, holy fuck."

Great news! Hew Time is now available for streaming prior to the official release date of March 25th courtesy of Joyful Noise Recordings. As mentioned previously, Hew Time is the all drums/percussion album by Dale Crover, Coady Willis, and Joe Plummer. You can still pre-order the Gold Vinyl version with a digital download here. The gold vinyl version is limited to 1000 copies and is going fast, the black and gold version already sold out.

"The project started with Joe Plummer. He turned Coady and myself on to a Max Roach record called M'Boom. Originally Joe's idea was to cover that record. I convinced him that it would be impossible to do so, and we should take M'Boom as a creative influence on our own thing. So here it is. Hew Time!" - Dale Crover

"Joe Plummer (Black Heart Procession, Modest Mouse, The Shins)had an idea to record an all percussion record inspired by Max Roach's M'BOOM. He came down to LA and we (Joe, Dale Crover, and myself) set up shop in the Melvins' practice space. 3 drum kits, bongos, congas, and all manner of percussive devices were used to make Hew Time, a full length album out on Joyful Noise Records March 25. We are really excited about how it turned out! Recorded and mixed by Toshi Kasai. Hope you can check it out." - Coady Willis

Today Buzz announced that he will be releasing his debut solo acoustic full-length album, This Machine Kills Artists, on June 3 via Ipecac Recordings! An extensive North American tour kicking off in June will be announced shortly.

Buzz said this of the release: "I have no interest in sounding like a crappy version of James Taylor or a half-assed version of Woody Guthrie, which is what happens when almost every rock and roller straps on an acoustic guitar. No thanks... This Machine Kills Artists is a different kind of animal."

The recently rumored all drumming album Hew Time featuring Dale Crover and Coady Willis along with Joe Plummer (of Modest Mouse/The Shins/Black Heart Procession) will be coming out on Joyful Noise Recordings March 25th!

Here is how Joe Plummer describes the project:
"I heard Max Roach’s M’Boom 14 years ago and I’ve wanted to make my own version with drummers I love ever since. Dale, Coady and I carved out our own compositions built from a combination of drum kits and dozens of percussion instruments. I couldn’t be prouder of the end result. Thank you for the inspiration Mr. Max Roach. It’s Hew Time!"

The self-titled album is released March 25th on vinyl & digital. The first vinyl pressing is limited to 500 hand-numbered copies on Gold & Black "A-side/B-side" vinyl [SOLD OUT]. The second pressing is limited to 1000 copies on Gold vinyl, available for $15 here.
