The Dalek/HAZE XXL Art Book/Animation DVD/Music collaboration project “Purge Of Dissidents” was recently released on Ipecac Records and will be on the road, shown at screenings prior to Melvins shows on their upcoming national tour this fall. Melvins were involved in the soundtrack for this and Buzz wrote the introduction for the book.

Dearest comrades,

As we all anxiously await the outcome of the recent show of strength by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and its 'Great Leader' Kim Jong-Il, a different albeit arguably just as formidable show of strength rears its head across the horizon on this day the 10th of October in the year of OUR Lord Two Thousand and Six. I write not of a devastating natural disaster or another school shooting which calls into question our path of evolution, but one of the few things that can be relied upon as an affirmation of the greatness that is 'WE', (a) Senile Animal, the latest recording from those supremest of supreme leaders, the Melvins.
Now before you clean out your local munitions supplier in the preparation of forcing your entire region into purchasing the album by gunpoint, take note there are reasons you can supply prior to pistol whipping the locals into submission! The Melvins are now officially a four-piece. The new members are Jared Warren and Coady Willis, the guys from Big Business. If you are unaware as to who these people are or what this means take a few moments to grab a switch from the nearest tree, give yourself a few good lashes and then return to this note.
Jared Warren has taken over bass duties in addition to additional vocals, this equals lots of vocal harmonies as there are now 3 people vibrating the vocal chords on this album. Beyond that, the thing that is really going to make your Mother's Kenny G discography literally burst into flames upon bringing (a) Senile Animal home for debriefing is the fact that Coady Willis is the Second drummer of the Melvins. When I first heard the Melvins had a new drummer I feared Dale had lost his arms to a radial saw making those birdhouses he is so famous for in the local craft shows up and down the beautiful Pacific coastline. Rest assured I was wrong! What this means is (a) Senile Animal has two drummers on every track and therefore a sound which is certain to provide a re-definition of your neighborhood watch's list of offenses.
An album of 10 tracks with titles such as "A History of Drunks" and "A Vast Filthy Prison", this is out now in the U.S. and should be available in all countries dependent upon it for music in short order.

(The) Melvins (A) Senile Animal The Melvins are family entertainment on another level. Some people say The Melvins are the wave of the future. Some people think The Melvins have already influenced a huge wave of music on a global level but most people expect The Melvins to totally fuck up. Most people think they should be called "The Fucks" because they're fucked. Well, maybe so, but nonetheless it's the last half of 2006 and The Melvins have a new new NEW album called (A) Senile Animal. (A) Senile Animal was recorded in Hollywood and as you may or may not know. The Melvins have been through a lot this last year: wars, drugs, impeachment but they never lost sight of what was important AND what was festering in their bowels. Once again the Melvins have "started over" with two, count em TWO, new members, Coady Willis and Jared Warren from the band Big Business. This will be super colossal and totally beyond reason. We can't even believe it's happening but believe it or not it's becoming more and more believable. No shit man! It's like that drug trip I saw in a movie when I was on that drug trip. And there it is my friends. One thing you can be sure of is this (A) Senile Animal album is really really great and it really works! It's ten songs long and is most likely the best album they or anyone else will put out this year or any previous year or ever probably. They have double everything this time. Double drums. Double, triple and even quadruple vocals, double bass and guitar... Well, not really double bass and guitar but... Well sort of double bass and guitar but in order to explain how that works we would have to get into a lot of technical mumbo jumbo that even we don't understand so let's just leave it at the double drums. DOUBLE DRUMS everybody! And, AND... The Melvins will hit the road with Big Business in September for a full United States tour. Keep your eyes peeled for the dates in your town or at least a couple of hundred miles from where you live. Take a road trip with your friends and go see the Melvins. Take time off from work, get your tickets and go go go to the show show show. Or shows. You and all your friends should go to as many of the Melvins shows as you can because all sorts of crazy shit will be happening. It will be un-fucking-believable and besides, hell, why not? It will be a kick in the ass! Well, earlier in 2006 and as usual the seemingly tireless Melvins released yet another brand "new" CD. Big surprise. This time, as a result of their strange work last year in Europe with the famous Trevor Dunn playing bass they've recorded a full length record entitled "Houdini Live: A Live History of Gluttony and Lust", which was released in May. So put down your beer bongs and your crack pipes and dash out and buy two or three copiesÉ or maybe twenty copies just in case. Remember, this isn't bullshit so don't worry. It would be criminally and morally irresponsible not to get behind, promote and endorse The Melvins with every tool (legal and illegal) possible. The word is out on various music news sites that the Melvins first album recorded with Big Business is due out on October 10th on Ipecac Records. There are some photos of them in the studio located at kaztsurudome.com/melvins/melvins.htm
