Canadians, your luck has finally turned! Either the petitions worked or The Queen must have been fooled by the slight name inconsistency as Melvins Lite will be touring the north this July! Check the tour dates page for the up to date list of upcoming shows.
NBC posted the video of the Melvins performance of The War on Wisdom on Last Call w/ Carson Daly, someone else happened to do them one better and include the entire appearance which also featured most of The Bit off of Stag.
AmRep will be putting out a 5 artist series of split 7" picture discs with Melvins on one side and Hammerhead on the other. (same songs on each of the five 7"s)
So we'll have 5 different picture disc versions of the same single available at the Post Moral Neanderthal Retardist Pornography art & music show at Subliminal Gallery in L.A.(6/8) and TT Underground in NYC (6/30). AmRep is making a large run too! We showed the Junko Mizuno art, now feast your eyes on Camille Rose Garcia's art for these!!! If we loved Camille any more we'd have to marry her in some weird reverse-Mormon kinda way.

The wait is finally over, the new Melvins EP "The Bulls & The Bees" is now available for F-R-E-E download. In addition to that, the new video for 'The War on Wisdom' the first track off the EP was released upon the internets for your viewing pleasure. As far as getting a physical copy of this, AMREP will be doing a vinyl version at some point, and I've heard rumors you might be able to get a copy of the free cd by e-mailing This email address is being protected from spambots. METALSUCKS interviewed Dale recently and he let a plethora of cats out of the bag! "We’ve been doing a ton of recording of various things, doing lots of covers. We’re going to be doing a lot of splits with people. We’re going to be doing some singles where we play with other people as well. We’ve recorded some Venom songs, with Scott Kelly from Neurosis singing and playing guitar. We’ve recorded a Roxy Music song with Jello Biafra with our old bass player Kevin [Rutmanis] playing. We just recorded some Queen songs with a friend of ours Caleb who’s in a band called Tweak Bird. We have a bunch of things planned along those lines."
Spin conducted a revelaing interview with Buzz in which he reiterates his non-involvement in the death of Kurt Cobain among other things. "I really, really don’t care what people do. If you want to smoke weed or destroy your life with other drugs or whatever you want to do, I’m fine with that. Good. I think you should OD. You should OD with a giant stockpile of drugs right in front of you."
Rolling Stone has an article on the infamous Melvan, the original Melvins tour van complete with Kurt Cobain sharpie art. The current owner posted it on ebay and appears to be well on his way to a life of luxury.
Dale and Coady went Mano-a-mano in a drum-off on March 10th at The CineFamily at the premiere of the film Sound of Noise. There was video on youtube of the drum-off but the person that shot the video decided to set it to private.
AmRep posted Unsane's cover of 'The Bloat' on youtube that will be on the upcoming tour 7". If you weren't sure whether or not you wanted to pick this up, now you know you do.
Big Business redesigned their website and it looks like something out of a utopian future.

Tour Dates are starting to trickle in for Europe now too along with the already announced U.S. dates.

What a news-filled month February has turned out to be for MELVINS Fans! First up, on March 13th you will be able to download 'The Bulls & The Bees' 5-song EP from facebook. The EP release will be followed by a 21-date U.S. trek w/ Unsane that kicks off on Apr. 11 at The Blank Club in San Jose, Calif. and wraps up exactly a month later on May 11 at The Galaxy Concert Theatre in Santa Ana, Calif. Additionally, the April 13th Los Angeles show at the Troubadour will be taped for a future airing on an episode of “Last Call With Carson Daly“. You'll be able to pick up a free Bulls/Bees CD at one of the shows, AmRep will also likely be releasing it at a later date in what will undoubtedly be an attractive format. Buzz described the effort as “amazing in its noisy calm intensity.” To whet your appetites four of the five tracks are available for streaming NOW!

Ipecac has also announced the forthcoming Melvins-Lite album 'Freak Puke' scheduled to be released on June 5. Melvins-Lite is Buzz and Dale along with the great Trevor Dunn. (Have no fear, this collaboration does not spell the demise of the Melvins/Big Biz alliance) There will be a Melvins-Lite tour later on this year.
